HOUSTON (KIAH) – The FDA is warning consumers, tattoo artists, and shops to stop using or selling two Sacred Tattoo Ink products contaminated with harmful bacteria.
The two inks are:
- Sacred Tattoo Ink, Raven Black (Lot# RB0624, Best Before: June 28, 2027)
- Sacred Tattoo Ink, Sunny Daze (Lot# SD1124, Best Before: Nov. 1, 2027)
The FDA said these products tested positive for dangerous microorganisms that can cause serious skin infections when injected during tattooing. Symptoms may include red rashes, papules, and in some cases, permanent scarring.
The FDA urges enthusiasts to ask tattoo artists about ink brands before getting new tattoos and for artists and sellers to avoid using or selling the contaminated products.
